Word to PDF Converter, Free and Simple
Turn a Word document into a PDF that looks the same everywhere. Upload DOCX, DOC, ODT or RTF, download the PDF. Converted on our EU server and never stored.
Unlike our other tools, this one sends your file over an encrypted connection to our server in the EU. It is converted in memory, the PDF is returned to you, and nothing is kept: not the file, not the result, not its name. How server-side tools handle your data

About Word to PDF
A Word document opens differently on every computer: fonts get substituted, page breaks move, and a CV that fits on one page at home spills onto two at the recruiter's desk. A PDF freezes the layout. This page converts a Word document (DOCX, DOC, ODT or RTF) into a PDF you can send, print or upload anywhere.
How to convert Word to PDF
Steps
- Choose or drag in your Word document. One file at a time, up to 25 MB.
- Press Convert to PDF. The conversion usually takes a few seconds.
- Download the PDF. It has the same name as your document with a
.pdfending.
Your document is not stored
Unlike the browser-only tools on this site, the conversion runs on our server in the EU because browsers cannot render Word files faithfully. The document is converted in memory, the PDF is streamed straight back, and nothing is kept: not the file, not the PDF, not its name. We only record that a conversion happened, its type, a rough size and how long it took. The privacy policy has the full wording.
What is preserved
- Headings, paragraphs, lists and tables keep their formatting.
- Embedded pictures and shapes keep their position and size.
- Headers, footers and page numbers are kept.
- Hyperlinks remain clickable in the PDF.
- Tracked changes are rendered as they appear in your current view, so accept or reject them first.
Tips for a faithful result
- Embed or choose common fonts. If a font is missing on the server, a close match is used and line breaks may shift. Fonts such as Liberation, DejaVu, Arial-compatible and Times-compatible faces convert reliably.
- Set the page size in Word before converting; the PDF uses the document's own page setup.
- Remove passwords. Protected documents cannot be opened for conversion.
Other Office conversions
This is the same engine as the full Office to PDF converter. For spreadsheets use Excel to PDF, and for slide decks use PowerPoint to PDF. If you have a modern .docx and want the page that matches it exactly, see DOCX to PDF.
