Up to 20 files, 50 MB each. SVG files.

The same settings apply to every file you add. Each row shows the size of the picture it produced. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and scripts or outside links inside an SVG are removed before it is drawn. Converted files stay in this tab until you close or reload it.

About the SVG to PNG converter

The SVG to PNG converter turns vector drawings into ordinary pictures without sending them anywhere. Drop in one or more SVG files, choose how large the result should be, and download PNG, JPG or WebP images one by one or as a ZIP. Because an SVG is a description of shapes rather than a grid of pixels, it can be drawn at any size, so you can export the same logo as a small icon and as a poster-sized graphic from the same file. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. There is no signup, no watermark and no upload.

How to convert an SVG to PNG

Steps

  1. Choose the Output format. PNG keeps transparency and is the best choice for logos, icons and diagrams. JPG and WebP are available when the destination needs them.
  2. Choose how to size the picture. Scale draws it at 1×, 2×, 3×, 4×, 6× or 8× of its natural size. Width and height sets an exact size; fill in one side and the other follows the drawing's proportions.
  3. Drag your SVG files onto the drop area, paste them, or choose files. Conversion starts as soon as a file is added, and each row shows the size it was drawn at.
  4. Download each image, or download all of them as one ZIP.

Privacy

Everything runs in your browser. Your SVG files are never uploaded to our servers, and the converted images are created on your device. Before an SVG is drawn, anything that could run code or fetch a resource is removed: script elements, event handlers such as onload, foreignObject blocks, links to web addresses, and javascript: URLs. Pictures embedded as data URLs are kept. The converted files stay in the tab until you close or reload it, and then they are gone.

Worked examples

A logo for a presentation

A logo whose file says width="200" height="80" is 200 × 80 pixels at its natural size. At 4× the PNG is 800 × 320 pixels and stays crisp on a projector. The transparent background means it sits on any slide colour.

An icon at an exact size

A store listing asks for a 512 × 512 icon. Choose Width and height and type 512 in the width. A square SVG gives 512 × 512 at once. If the drawing is not square, type both sides to stretch it to the box, or fill in only one to keep its proportions.

An SVG with no width or height

Some exported files only have a viewBox, for example viewBox="0 0 24 24". The converter uses the viewBox as the natural size, so 24 × 24 at 1× and 192 × 192 at 8×. If the file has neither, it assumes 300 × 150 pixels, the size a browser uses.

Things worth knowing

  • Text. An SVG drawn as a picture cannot load web fonts or the fonts on your computer. Text in a font that is not embedded appears in a fallback font. Convert text to outlines in your design tool before exporting to keep the exact lettering.
  • Outside images. Pictures that point to another web address are not loaded. Embed them as data URLs or place them inside the drawing first.
  • Size limits. Output is limited to 16384 pixels on a side and 32 megapixels in total. A large drawing at 8× can exceed that, and the row then explains the limit so you can choose a smaller scale.
  • Large batches. You can add up to 20 files at a time, 50 MB each.

Choosing PNG, JPG or WebP

PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, so it is the default. JPG has no transparency; the background colour fills empty areas, and the quality slider trades file size for detail. WebP keeps transparency and can be lossless or lossy, which makes it a good middle ground for the web.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an SVG to a high-resolution PNG?

Keep the output on PNG and choose a scale. An SVG is a drawing rather than a grid of pixels, so it can be drawn at any size without getting blurry. A logo that is 200 pixels wide becomes 800 pixels wide at 4×. Choose Width and height instead when you need an exact size such as 1024 pixels across.

Will the PNG have a transparent background?

Yes. Areas of the SVG that have no fill stay transparent in the PNG and in the WebP. JPG cannot store transparency, so for JPG the transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick, white by default.

Why does my SVG look different after converting?

Almost always it is text. An SVG drawn as a picture cannot load fonts from the web or from your computer, so text in a font that is not embedded is drawn in a fallback font. Convert the text to outlines in your design tool before exporting, or embed the font in the file. Images that point to other web addresses are not loaded for the same reason.

What happens to scripts and links inside the SVG?

They are removed before the file is drawn. Script elements, event handlers such as onload, foreignObject blocks, and references to web addresses or javascript: links are all stripped. Pictures embedded as data URLs are kept. The result is a plain picture, and the original file on your device is never changed.

What size does an SVG without a width and height get?

The converter reads the width and height of the file first, then falls back to the viewBox. If the file has neither, it uses 300 by 150 pixels, which is the size browsers use. You can always override that with a scale or with an exact width and height.

Are my SVG files uploaded anywhere?

No. The drawing and the encoding happen in your browser, and the finished files are created on your device. The page makes no network request with your files, and they disappear when you close the tab.
