Day counter

Formula

Count all days (including weekends) between two dates.

The division by 86,400,000 converts milliseconds to days.

Worked example

Count days from 1 January 2025 to 15 January 2025:

  • 1 Jan to 15 Jan = 14 days

Count days from 1 January 2025 to 1 February 2025:

  • January has 31 days
  • 1 Jan to 1 Feb = 31 days

Inclusive vs exclusive

This tool counts days exclusive of the end date. To count inclusively (including both start and end dates), add 1 to the result.

FAQ

Can I count backward? No, the end date must be after the start date. Swap them for the reverse calculation.

How many days in a year? 365 days, or 366 in a leap year.

Is 2025 a leap year? No. The next leap year is 2028. A year is a leap year if divisible by 4, but not by 100 unless also by 400.

What about time of day? This tool works with dates only. For time-of-day calculations, use the duration calculator.

Can I export the results? Copy the results manually. This is a client-side tool with no backend storage.
